Features Overview
Our first sighting of a Crested Caracara
Anahuac national wildlife refuge
Located just south of Houston Texas, this preserve is abundant with amazing wildlife and breathtaking wetlands. We traveled her in early February 2020 and viewed over 40 species of birds in the morning hours. From the moment we entered the preserve, we knew we found something special. Hundreds of Snow Geese flew over our heads in classic formation in the predawn light. The park itself is very drivable and offers dozens of superior shooting. locations.
The easiest to identify based on its bright plumage and distinctive bill, the Northern Shoveler.
We saw dozens of Hawks, mostly. the Red Tailed.
